If you currently are operating a MLM business from home you already know how important it is to have a continuous flow of highly targeted prospects. You also know that to help your business grow, some of your prospects need to join your MLM home-based opportunity.
While most MLM companies have a way for their distributors to keep in touch with their prospects with tools such as an autoresponder, in reality, much more is needed. Distributors in MLM opportunities need to be able to create their own opt-in lists through other creative strategies; they need to have a way to stand out from the crowded field of distributors that is so unique people will want to sign up and receive more information from them by subscribing to their list.
The good news is there is a way to do this. Here are four tips to help you build in your own, highly responsive and targeted MLM opt-in list.
Tip #1: Research your competitor’s websites. Look at how they market their items. Study if they have a clean web page; look to see if they are missing something in their message and how your approach can be different. Doing this will give you ideas about what you can do better when building your own list of opt-in subscribers.
Tip #2: Visit forums. Go to Google and type in whatever product your MLM company promotes along with the word forum. When you find a forum, lurk around quietly and see what people are saying about your product. Listen and see if there is are additional problems or concerns that the other websites you visited have not solved. This gives you the perfect opportunity to solve whatever the issues and be viewed as an expert. Most people would be willing to opt-in to your list if they realize you have something of value to offer.
Tip #3: Set up Joint Ventures. Research who else is selling your company’s product or something similar (e.g. health club). Look at other sites as well that may not be in direct competition, but who have products or services that could be of interest to your prospects. For example, maybe your product is a health juice, and your local chiropractor sends out a monthly newsletter to his customers. You could ask your chiropractor if he would be willing to let you write an article to include in his newsletter (with your signature file at the end of course!). In return, you could promote the benefits of chiropractic medicine to your customers along with a recommendation for your local prospects to visit the chiropractor and receive a 50% discount off the first office visit. The chiropractor, of course, would need to be willing to take 50% off the first visit. This would be a win-win situation for both of you. You would get more exposure for your business and your chiropractor more patients.
Tips#3: Create your own unique lead capture or splash page. This page should have the solutions to the problems your research showed people have as well as a link to your site to click for more information.
Tip#4: Create a newsletter. You could use your lead capture page as a means for people to sign up for your newsletter. Your newsletter should have good quality content and provide useful information to your subscribers. It should be sent out at least once a month and can include any other back-end offers or products that you promote which might be of potential interest to your list. Of course, links on how people can sign up or get the products of your MLM company would also be included as well!
These are simple tips that you can use to create your own unique opt-in MLM list of prospects on an on-going basis. They will help you stand out from the field of distributors of your company, and help your business to continue to grow.

In addition to conventional medicine, consumers today have a number of natural health treatment options from which to choose. While it is always best to check with your primary care provider before starting any new health regimen, individuals should also do a little homework on the different kinds of natural health care systems that are available to them.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is one of the many natural health care options assessable to patients today. Some of the various health treatments that TCM provides patients include acupuncture, herbal medicine, or Tuina (Chinese medical massage). Other health services provided by professional Oriental medicine practitioners may involve Tai Chi, Qigong, meridian therapy, moxibustion, cupping, and ear acupuncture, among others.

If you’re searching for a better way to relax and to relieve stress and anxiety, then natural health therapies like massage may serve your needs. Though there are over 80 types of massage modalities, most licensed massage therapists are trained in sports massage, Swedish massage, and deep tissue therapy. However, a growing number of massage practitioners have gained advanced training in therapeutic modalities like craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, infant and prenatal massage, and chair massage, among others. In addition to its natural health attributes in promoting overall wellbeing, massage therapy is also helpful in relieving aches and pains associated with musculoskeletal conditions, like fibromyalgia.

Naturopathy or homeopathy are also natural health medicines that may be helpful in treating common and chronic health problems. For example, an experienced homeopathic practitioner may treat patients with homeopathic remedies that are derived from animal, mineral, plant and synthetic substances. Other common, natural healing treatments facilitated by both homeopathic and naturopathic practitioners include flower remedies (i.e., Bach flower remedies) and energy healing therapies.

Chiropractic is also a form of natural health care that is used by patients everywhere. This complementary medicine is practiced by licensed chiropractors, who gently manipulate the spinal column to remove “blockages” and to restore health.

If you (or someone you know) are interested in finding educational programs in the healing arts, let professional training within fast-growing industries like massotherapy, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started! Explore natural health programs near you. Natural Health Options Today

Dr. Nelson Mañe a board certified chiropractic orthopedist and neurologist with subspecialty training in Childhood Neurobehavioral Disorders.  These conditions include Autistism Spectrum Disorders, ASD, (ADHD, Autism, Aspergerâ??s Syndrome and Touretteâ??s Syndrome).  Dr. Nelson Mane uses a sensory motor integration hemispheric approach.  Which states there is a link between the childâ??s motor skills (movements), coordination and the coordination of the childâ??s thoughts.  Similar neurologic pathway and circuits are used to process, coordinate and smooth both aspects.  This is because the cerebellum which is involved in both movement and thought can be dysfunctal in some cases.  Many of these children appear uncoordinated and have difficulty doing simple motor functions such as jumping jacks or cross crawl patterns.  Many can be observed to be toe walkers.  Letâ??s look at some of the scientific literatures.

Research Service (151S), VA Medical Center, 800 Irving Ave., Syracuse, NY, USA.

The traditional view that the basal ganglia and cerebellum are simply involved in the control of movement has been challenged in recent years. One of the pivotal reasons for this reappraisal has been new information about basal ganglia and cerebellar connections with the cerebral cortex. In essence, recent anatomical studies have revealed that these connections are organized into discrete circuits or ‘loops’. Rather than serving as a means for widespread cortical areas to gain access to the motor system, these loops reciprocally interconnect a large and diverse set of cerebral cortical areas with the basal ganglia and cerebellum. The properties of neurons within the basal ganglia or cerebellar components of these circuits resembles the properties of neurons within the cortical areas subserved by these loops. For example, neuronal activity within basal ganglia and cerebellar loops with motor areas of the cerebral cortex is highly correlated with parameters of movement, while neuronal activity within basal ganglia and cerebellar loops with areas of the prefrontal cortex is more related to aspects of cognitive function. Thus, individual loops appear to be involved in distinct behavioral functions. Studies of basal ganglia and cerebellar pathology support this conclusion. Damage to the basal ganglia or cerebellar components of circuits with motor areas of cortex leads to motor symptoms, whereas damage of the subcortical components of circuits with non-motor areas of cortex causes higher-order deficits. In this report, we review some of the new anatomical, physiological and behavioral findings that have contributed to a reappraisal of function concerning the basal ganglia and cerebellar loops with the cerebral cortex.

This information in the hands of the appropriately trained physician can help us to determine a sensory motor program to help unscramble the desynchronized thought of the affected child.

Dr. Mane offers one on one consultations as well as Group Seminars  for parents and children who suffer from Autism Spectrum Disorders.  If you are interested in scheduling a consultation or to attend a seminar please call 813-935-4744.Â

Health insurance is an important aspect of decreasing the cost of everything from surgeries to routine check-ups, but Americans who do not pay attention to the fine print in their plans may find themselves paying more, or with less health care alternatives, than had they taken the time to review their options or taken the advice of a professional.

Most people who have a health insurance plan, or have had coverage in the past, understand what premiums are. That is the cost that either you, or your employer, pays in order to maintain your health insurance coverage.

That number is the first number you may see, but there are many variables that can also influence what coverage you have and what providers you can see.

For those who have obtained a car insurance policy, deductibles are also familiar. You agree to pay up to a certain amount, and then the insurance agency covers the rest. What may not be immediately apparent is that those deductibles could be different between in-network and out-of-network providers, and the deductibles may change depending on whether you are visiting your family physician or in the hospital for treatment.

One issue in choosing health insurance that doesn’t have an analogue in auto insurance is the idea of a pre-existing condition.

As a recent report in the Miami Herald highlighted, internal guidelines of insurance companies may lead to the exclusion of coverage for conditions that an individual may already be receiving treatment for, such as Parkinson’s disease, HIV and AIDS as well as more common ailments such as diabetes and hepatitis C.

You may be able to avoid the exclusion of coverage by maintaining health insurance. If you take a new job, and there’s a small gap of less than 61 days, that’s alright. But insurers may require up to a 12-month period, and you will want to use your previous insurer’s time covering you to complete that time requirement. If you don’t have that 12-month credit by having health insurance with another provider, expect to wait up to 18 months before your current plan will start covering your medical expenses.

Although many health insurance carriers have articulated that they would be in favor of eliminating restricting coverage based on pre-existing conditions, they told Congress they would only do so if every American was required to have coverage. Ironing those terms out, along with other aspects of the new administration’s health care reform initiatives, may take several months at the earliest.

For the more than 45 million Americans who were living without health insurance coverage in 2007 because they’ve lost their jobs or can’t afford to buy it themselves, according to a Census Bureau report, a gap in coverage can be costly.

Gaps in coverage, either by choice or financial necessity, can cause major problems because insurance companies only offer a 61-day window to enroll in a new plan before a company will start looking at a patient’s medical history for “pre-existing conditions.”

If you have ongoing treatment for things like chiropractic care, therapy, pregnancy or other conditions, the company will not cover those conditions for up to a year if you let that 61-day window expire. It may offer coverage at a higher fee, or you may have to pay for the entire cost out of pocket, in what’s known as a rider.

One option that may help you to avoid that is to consider COBRA coverage, if you were previously insured. That will allow you to maintain a plan you enrolled in, but keep in mind that if your employer paid for part of your insurance, the bill could be five times what you saw while you were employed.

Another option to consider is looking for an individual health insurance policy. While the deductibles and premiums are less expensive, potentially a fraction of your monthly COBRA bill, you may not get all of the services that your previous plan offered.

The best solution to ensure that you or your family isn’t buried by high healthcare costs is to carefully review the plan you’re considering purchasing. Learning the jargon used can help you make an informed decision and ensure that you select the right health insurance plan for your needs and conditions.

In Structural Integration, we expect to give a cycle of ten sessions. There is a reason for this. We are not dealing with local problems. We are not dealing with the kind of thing that you can say, “Well, I fixed that, that’s all.” We are dealing with an intent to make a body more secure, more adequate within the field of gravity. This requires that muscles be balanced, and need to be balanced around a vertical line. And, when I talk about balancing muscles, I’m talking about balancing the right side against the left side. About balancing the front of the body against the back of the body, and finally, about balancing the innermost muscles against the outermost, the inside against the outside, this is the most important of those balances, and we start from the outside working in, and it takes us ten hours before we can get to the place where we can really balance the outside against the inside.” —Ida P. Rolf, Ph.D.For those unfamiliar with Structural Integration, Structural Integration is a 10 session systematic process of deep bodywork designed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf that improves the Structural and Functional abilities of the human body in its relationship to the gravitational field. Through the systematic approach of reorganizing major joints, and body segments, while releasing the chronically held tension and torsion patterns we are able to achieve a rapid change in structural mechanics and correction of chronic musculoskeletal pain or dysfunction. Athletes perform better while stress is significantly reduced. Postural balance and flexibility are improved with each session. Professional athletes, dancers, and performance artists throughout the world have successfully utilized CORE Structural Integration. Business and professional leaders have found that the beneficial results have improved their focus and attention, their vitality, and their creative abilities. CORE Structural Bodywork can significantly balance the emotional and cognitive abilities of anyone who completes the 10-session series. In preceding articles that explain the ten-session series, you have seen how imageStructural Integration can benefit the general population by empowering the body to work in the way it was intended through aligning each body part to its correct place and function. Now it is time to take a look at how these benefits can apply to the growing statistic of 1 in 5 people who live with chronic pain. “When a body is in pain or discomfort, whether physical or emotional, the unconscious response is to tighten and shorten in an effort to “get away” from the pain. Our work focuses on lengthening and balancing the body in order for the tightened tissue to have some place to go upon release.” — Ida RolfWe all experience physical pain. In its normal state, pain is a healthy message that something is wrong with our body. Pain is typically a short-lived response to some stimulus. These stimuli may include an injury (such as a sprained wrist), a disease or infection (such as arthritis or an ingrown toenail), a traumatic intrusion (ranging from the major, such as surgery, to the minor, such as cutting your finger while chopping tomatoes in the kitchen), or even the most natural of body functions (such as giving birth to a baby)”As a doctor I find myself standing during procedures for 4 to 6 hours daily. At the end of the day, I am often exhausted, sore, and sometimes unable to sleep comfortably. Joe’s therapy allows me to recover faster and sleep better so I can continue to endure my long days at work.” Sassan Pazirandeh, MDAs a cautionary physical response, pain is a good thing. But when pain continues for an extended period of time to the point that it interferes with your regular activities and comfort, it becomes chronic pain.”The gospel according to osteopaths is to try to go to the center to get to the cause and change it. The gospel according to Rolf is that you can’t get to the center to change it until you work with the outside. The body is like an onion. To get to the center without injury you must peel it layer by layer” Ida P. RolfDefined as pain that lasts beyond what would normally be expected for a given injury or disease, or for more than six months, chronic pain comes in varying degrees and, whether sporadic or ongoing, can be debilitating. Its negative impacts are widespread: o It can affect sleep patterns, resulting in a vicious cycle of insomnia and fatigue. o It can decrease appetite in response to physical discomfort, or increase appetite in response to the resultant stress. o It can interfere with the brain’s chemistry and natural analgesics, sometimes resulting in dependence on prescription pain medications. o It can wreak havoc on one’s emotions, resulting in anger, sadness, anxiety, and stress. Depression is a common result of chronic pain. o It can impact your finances, due to absenteeism, distraction on the job, or decreased productivity. o It can impact life’s pleasures by curtailing social activities and taking the passion out of hobbies and favorite pastimes. o It can impact one’s entire family as they try to cope with the many ways that chronic pain affects the sufferer”The Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy recently cited that patients with chronic low back pain may respond better and sustain longer improvements when treated with alternative treatment protocols like Structural Integration.”Common sites of chronic pain include the back, neck, shoulder, and head. Whatever the source of the chronic pain, its impact on the rest of the body is tremendous as other body parts try to compensate for the pain-site’s inability to function correctly. imageWhen an injury of some sort has taken place in the body, the vibration of this injury is taken up by the whole structure in a series of compensations and adaptations to limit the site of pain. These stressors that are arriving at any bony junction are manifestations of distal soft tissue and visceral strains. Typically, what I often see in my practice is what I term the ‘end point’ or ‘end chain’ of pain, this is where the structure cannot adapt to the strain or torsion pattern. An example is a client will present with a chronic shoulder injury, however as we progress through the 10 session series and begin releasing and unwinding tension and torsion patterns in places far away from the shoulder such as the base of the feet, relief begins to arrive. Restoration of the normal mobility ultimately rests on the establishment of system wide support and adaptability. This means that healing is a system wide event and local problems are not local. This is the missing link in many of the myriad of healing approaches out there available to the public, which many people endlessly try with out success and frustration, offering temporary relief at best with little or no success. The lack of success in these modalities lies in the fact that once again they are chasing the ‘symptom’ instead of addressing the origin of the problem causing the chronic pain. Many have relied on prescription drugs, over-the-counter remedies, surgeries, and procedures. They’ve tried relaxation, counseling, and biofeedback. They’ve tried massage, acupuncture, and chiropractic approaches. In desperation, many have even tried remedies that may seem less than sensible, sound, or wise – all in an effort to relieve themselves of chronic pain and its negative effects. The real skill as a Structural Integration practitioner I’ve found is keeping the big view while attending to local events. Stated quite simply understanding that the presenting “symptom” has a context. It is the whole human being. Just a quick summary Structural Integration addresses chronic pain at its origin, providing a corrective remedy rather than a temporary ‘band-aid’ approach to treatment. “I am dealing with problems in the body where there is never just one cause. I’d like you to have more reality on the circular processes that do not act in the body, but that are the body. The body process is not linear, it is circular; always, it is circular. One thing goes awry, and its effects go on and on and on and on. A body is a web, connecting everything with everything else.” Ida P. Rolf, Ph.D. “The 10 sessions of Structural Integration has helped me tremendously after I injured my back. I feel better than I did before my motorcycle accident. Thank you so much for showing me a new way to use my body. I learned so much in our time together. Your encouragement and knowledge are very motivating. Thank you! ” Suzanne ChartierMany treatments work well in conjunction with SI, so you can feel free to continue with them while receiving SI therapy. For instance, massage can be a wonderful way to relax your body and increase your sense of well-being. A conventional doctor can address specific medical concerns and prescribe medication or suggest procedures that may indeed be advisable. A chiropractor can enhance the manner in which your joints function by moving bones into their appropriate places. A counselor can help you deal with the emotional barrage surrounding chronic pain. All of these approaches can be valuable components of your ongoing health maintenance program, and their efficacy will only be enhanced and supported by the work that I do.If you or someone you know has been suffering from chronic pain, now is the time to take your health back. Enjoy the benefits of the most advanced form of Structural Integration offered at this time. “Joe, I am a firm believer in Structural Integration and the work you do. The ten sessions straightened and aligned my body resulting in less aches and pains due to years of nagging injuries and bad posture. After only a few visits you relieved the nagging ache in my lower back and hip that I lived with for years. I thought aches and pains were part of getting older but you explained what the problem was and how to correct it I have and do highly recommend the 10 sessions and your services to anyone.” Thank you, Peter Maher

As I begin my treatise on why Ameriplan will stagger the network marketing industry in the next few years allow me to put forth a couple of trite, but, true cliches. “Timing is Everything” and “Being in the Right Place at the Right Time”. Here are two phrases we commonly hear and yet they almost always ring true at the time they’re presented. Usually that time is hindsight.

Today, though, we’re attempting to look forward and to do that we need to start with the market and economic conditions of today. We need to do this because if we’re to say that growth will happen in the future then by default there must have been a planting time. My gut feeling is that the fallow ground now being churned over by the economics realities is the ripe soil for the redwoods of tomorrow. Ameriplan and its distributors may very well be one of those redwoods. So let’s look at our “soil sample” and see what it’s telling us.

Reason #1

The current status of the rising cost of healthcare and what seems to be the endless and staggering increases in a time when wages are stagnant at best and, in actuality, declining due to the real cost of living. Combine that with the loss of jobs and therefore a loss of income and the inability to pay for healthcare and a loss of healthcare benefits and things begin to roil. Combine THOSE issues with the parallel road of the worsening of the health condition of our citizenry as diabetes, obesity, cancer, chronic fatigue, depression, etc., seem to be skyrocketing and now we can see the real tsunami on the horizon. And all the while, quietly pushing its way up through our soil is Ameriplan. And that brings us to our next point.

Reason #2

The products of Ameriplan. As time goes on an it continues to become more and more difficult to pay for insurance (ask any self employed person) or for the benefits out of pocket (good luck with that), a need arises for something that would at least be supplemental if not an outright replacement in some situations.

While Ameriplan is NOT an insurance company, if you’ve ever looked through their literature what you’ll find are some very impressive discounting. And we’re not talking 5 bucks off of a $200 pair of glasses. And, they cover the gamut of required services: dental, vision, medical, prescription and chiropractic. I’ll leave it up to you to contact a rep for the details. One more thing, socializing the health industry will do NOTHING to alleviate any of this.

Reason #3

It’s a multi level marketing company. Notice anything in the headlines lately? Like maybe the auto industry closing plants for months at time? Or the financial sector laying off people? Or retail cutting back on new store openings and letting attrition wean their payrolls? What could be a better time for network marketing than when folks need work and income. Most MLM’s have a little initial overhead cost and Ameriplan is one of those companies. Tremendous support, low overhead, a product that’s needed and is priced right for the market (actually it seems too low to me) all point to a successful business plan. You may be able to do without hand cream or candles or jewelry, but, you WILL need healthcare at some time.

Reason #4

As more and more of our fellow laborers fall below the poverty line Ameriplan has put into place a program the call APAP, The Ameriplan Prescription Advocacy Program. If I may quote their literature here, it is “The Most Advanced Prescription Drug Program in The Industry!” This program not only allows the member, and their household, to save up to 50% on generic drugs, but, if the household meets the income qualifications the client won’t pay more than an $82 service fee for any of the name-brand prescriptions they take in TOTAL (that’s as of the time of this article). Again, see a rep for the details.

Reason #5

They have a great compensation plan. And besides being able to help the types of people we spoke about isn’t that what it’s all about? You need to make a living. Ameriplan has the obvious and requisite residual income structure (and that’s not anything to sneeze at either) along with some up front payments and discounts as well, but, they also have some nice “tweakings” to their plan. Such as being able to be paid daily if you’d like. It’s a small thing, but, sometimes it’s the small things that tell the most about a company.

So there you have them. My 5 Reasons why Ameriplan is sitting on a powder keg waiting to explode. Or maybe its more like being on the nose cone of the shuttle at launch time. Either way, they have the great fortune of being in the right place at the right time.

Iowa doctors and nursing homes would receive less money when they care for poor people, if the governor approves the plan the Department of Human Services submitted. And the state might have to delay its goal to provide health insurance to all children. But administrators said they took special care to prevent cuts to already strained social workers who try to prevent child abuse. The Iowa Department of Human Services would lay off 79 employees as part of its effort to cut $145 million. Most would be workers at the juvenile detention centers at Eldora and Toledo. The department also proposed delays in efforts to streamline procedures families go through to have children covered by the Medicaid or Hawk-I health insurance programs. Administrators wanted to make that easier as they try to fulfill Gov. Chet Culver’s pledge to cover all Iowa children.DHS Director Charles Krogmeier also proposed delaying by a year or two a program in which families could sign up for subsidized dental coverage under Hawk-I, which is aimed at children of moderate-income families. The Legislature voted last spring to let such families sign up after experts noted many families have medical insurance but lack dental insurance. The department would need legislative approval for both delays, and for Krogmeier’s proposal to cut Medicaid pay for health care providers, such as nursing homes, physicians and dentists. Most health care providers would lose 5 percent of their pay from Medicaid, a state and federal program that covers poor people. Many providers already have complained for years that they lose money on every Medicaid patient they treat because the pay rates are so low.But Krogmeier said he was optimistic they would understand the state needed to make a temporary cut to save $15.5 million. He said he doubted many would stop providing care to Medicaid recipients.DHS also would save $1.3 million by dropping Medicaid coverage for chiropractic treatment, which the department said about half of states decline to cover.Krogmeier said he and his staff considered lowering income limits on who is eligible for Medicaid and Hawk-I, which would have cut the number of people on the programs. In the end, he said, “we didn’t want to go there.”Originally, the governor’s office estimated the department would have to cut $132 million. But that didn’t include an $11 million cut in the health care trust fund, plus cuts in a couple of smaller funds. So the true state cut is $145 million, spokesman Roger Munns said.Krogmeier said he avoided more layoffs by planning to spend several million dollars that would have been left in various funds at year’s end. He acknowledged that decision could make it even tougher to budget for the next fiscal year.

Â

Have you been injured at work?

Â

If you are an employee and have been injured in the State of California, chances are you would be frequently confused and intimidated by the application of the different laws and procedures.

Â

Remember, each case is different. The law or procedure applicable in one case may not be applicable to your case. Hence, it is best to consult a disability compensation attorney.

Â

For better understanding of the benefits available to you, it is advisable to discuss the several benefits an injured worker is entitled to.

Â

Workersâ?? Compensation System

Â

Workers’ compensation is the oldest social insurance program. It is a no-fault system, which means that the injured employees need not prove that the injury is caused by someone else’s fault.

Â

Under this system, an injured worker is entitled to benefits depending on the nature, date and severity of the injury:

Â

â?¢ Vocational rehabilitation services

Â

Injured workers who are unable to return to their former type of work are entitled to vocational rehabilitation services if these services can reasonably be expected to return the worker to suitable gainful employment.

Â

This includes the development of a suitable plan, the cost of any training, and a maintenance allowance while participating in rehabilitation.

Â

â?¢ Supplemental job displacement benefits

Â

This is a nontransferable voucher for the maximum amount of P10,000.00 intended for education-related retraining or skill enhancement, or both, payable to a state approved or accredited school if the worker is injured on or after January 1, 2004.

Â

To qualify, the injury must result in a permanent disability. The injured employee has not worked for 60 days after temporary disability ends and the employer does not offer modified or alternative work.

Â

â?¢ Medical Care

Â

Injured workers are entitled to receive all medical care reasonably required to cure or relieve the effects of the injury, with no deductible or co-payments by the injured worker.

Â

For dates of injury on or after Jan. 1, 2004, an injured worker is limited to 24 chiropractic and 24 physical therapy visits.

Â

Generally, the employer controls the medical treatment for the first 30 days after the injury is reported.

Â

However, if the employee has notified the employer in writing prior to the injury that he or she has a “personal physician” then the employee may be treated by that physician from the date of injury unless they agree for a managed care program.

Â

â?¢ Temporary disability benefits

Â

Workers who are unable to work within three (3) days are entitled to temporary disability benefits to partly replace wages lost as a result of the injury.

Â

The benefits are generally intended to restore 2/3 of the lost wages, up to a maximum of $728 per week. It is payable every two weeks and until the employee is able to return to work or until the employee’s condition becomes permanent and stationary.

Â

â?¢ Permanent disability benefits

Â

A worker with a permanent partial disability gets weekly benefits for a period which increases with the percentage of disability, from four (4) weeks for a one percent permanent disability up to 694.25 weeks for a 99.75 percent disability.

Â

It is payable at 2/3 of the injured worker’s average weekly wages, but are subject to a much lower maximum. As of January 1, 2004, the rates are $220 per week for disabilities less than 69.75 percent and $270 per week for disabilities rated at 70 to 99.75 percent.

Â

Those with a permanent partial disability of 70% or more may also collect a small life pension, which is a maximum of $257.69 per week.

There are a lot of details to consider when you are choosing a health care plan, whether itâ??s one offered through your employer or one you buy on your own. No matter what age you are, your health should be a primary concern, although young people often act as if they will live forever and sometimes postpone making health care decisions. Here is a list of common mistakes that people make all the time when choosing a health care plan. They are in no particular order, and all are important to consider, carefully and completely. If you are not conversant with all the terminology or are finding it difficult to make the decisions, you should ask for help from a neutral third-party such as family member or friend. Donâ??t ask a health insurance company unless you want to hear a sales pitch! Common mistakes

Less common oversights

Bottom line considerations
